C PEARL

 Morningstar Golden Isles Marina

St. Simons, GA

Sunday, 3rd of April, 2022

Another adventure.  Another vessel.  Half the size.  But just as much fun.  We don't know that, but let's go and see.

We sold Sea Jamm after realizing she had outgrown us.  We could no longer care for her as she needed, so we passed her along to someone who could.  We ended up going to dirt or asphalt if you will.  We purchased a small camper trailer and affectionately named her Pearl because it was our 30th wedding anniversary and she was kind of white.

After a few road trips and post covid, when we weren't even looking, we met a C Dory named C Pearl.  She was only a 25 footer, and trailerable. Besides, we liked her name.  So we said "why not" and trailered her over to Lake Lanier, only 15 minutes from our youngest grandbabies. Alan needed a new toy and I needed more drooly kisses.

After making her our own, we decided to take her out into the real water and see if she'll work her magic.

I would be lying if I didn't admit to being a bit reluctant in agreeing to live with the captain on a 25 C-Dory for a few months.  But once I feasted my eyes on the marshes of Glynn, and after hearing that first seagull, I knew this is where I wanted to be.

Monday, 4th of April

Isle of Hope, Savanah, GA

She is fast.  We cruised  87.5 miles in 5.5 hours.  We are twice as fast so we have to make decisions in half the time.  We left the channel once, that was when I was driving.  Oops!

Dinner was a 1.5-mile walk inland to Driftaway where we shared the fish of the day and 4-cheese grits.

We are staying tomorrow too.  It's supposed to rain and be nasty weather.

Tuesday morning before the bad weather, I got to take a very long walk through the surround neighborhoods.  Here are a few of my pictures.
